This is a new style event by community request. Very different from our LEAP classes. We like to think of it as a more advanced “intensive style” workshop. Somewhere we can really hone our skills, practice, progress, and become inspired.

Elevation Rope Lab is for those that already understand the fundamentals of Japanese inspired rope bondage. It’s a space to explore intermediate and advanced ropes concepts and skills during the primary class/lab. It is also an opportunity to ask questions or share about rope topics/ties of your choosing and explore/learn as a group or a couple small groups. 

July's Primary Class/Lab:

Presented by @Flynn_Racer & @-emmie- “Floating vertical bamboo”. This advanced class will focus on two primary subjects. First will be “rigging” bamboo to “float” or be suspended by one end. The second portion of the class will be applying the concept from our Hashira Immersion with Mr_Arrow. (basic hasira ties)

Attendees should have a working knowledge of uplines, suspension sustainable harness and single columns. For this class skillshare time will be replaced with class lab time

Format for these evenings are as follows.

Skill Share Lab: 7-8:15 (For this class skillshare time will be replaced with class lab time)

How to attend

Those wishing to attend can request to do so by DM and marking themselves as “going” or “interested” on this event. Please indicate in your DM if you will be, applying ropes, receiving ropes, switching or auditing. If we are not familiar with your skill set, we will reach out to discuss the prerequisites. Those wishing to audit only will be given the criteria at that time.

From there approved attendees will receive event details and ticketing links.

Prerequisites :

The expectation is that all attendees come with a practiced understanding of Japanese inspired rope bondage. What that looks like will be different for all of us. Basically if you feel comfortable following along and keeping up with most rope classes, you will be able to follow along and keep up here. If not you are always welcome to audit the class and soak up what you can. 

• People applying ropes should have a working understanding of suspension uplines and attaching styles. 

• People receiving ropes should have body awareness and be able to and willing to effectively communicate their limits while in ropes

• All attendees, tying or being tied, should have a good understanding of nerve risks and indicators of trouble. They should also be able to care for themselves and be accountable for their own tolerances while in an educational setting

• Attendees at any skill level are welcome to audit the class

• You will want a full rope kit and something to take notes
  This evening is designed for partnered tying, while the ticketing for the events is per individual.

This month there will be a figure-drawing opportunity at the Rope Jam. From 12:30-2:30, we will have models in rope for a few coordinated drawing sessions.
Three sessions will range from 20-30 minutes across different poses and different models. Oblige will have some materials on hand, but attendees should plan to bring their own sketching materials or tablets for digital sketches.

In general, this is meant to be an open, unstructured time for you to come in, grab a coffee or tea, relax, tie, skill share, and play. There’s no requirement to partake in the figure-drawing portion of the day. If this is not your thing, you are welcome to simply use the space however you wish during this time.

Our Open Play & Sunday Rope Jam -All are welcome, and any type of BDSM or kinky play is encouraged.

"Introduction to Hashira" with Mr-Arrow & subzq2

This class is an a la carte excerpt from our Hashira Immersion Weekend presented by @Mr_Arrow & @subzq2

(This is an in-person only event. There will be no livestream or recording.)

Hashira Shibari is the Japanese inspired rope bondage art of tying someone to an upright post, beam, or column. Translating to "pole or pillar binding," this advanced technique restricts movement by pressing the partner against a stationary surface, creating deep immobility, intense weight distribution, and strong erotic tension.

Before modern ceiling suspensions and bamboo rigs, tying to architectural pillars (or hashira) was the standard method of choice in historic Japanese homes. The post can act as a rigid anchor point to achieve kneeling, seated, standing, or partial suspension scenes.

This session will start by explaining the concept of a hashira and how to prepare a vertical pole for rope play / suspension by creating a variety of pole hard points.  We will explore standing and seated ties, and will conclude by teaching the “classic” hashira suspension, where the bottom is upright with their back tied to the pole 

Additional hashiras will be installed around The Rope Room for this weekend

To that end, this class is a deep dive into all aspects of caning, covering the physics of the swing and impact, cane construction decisions, practicing methodologies for tops, and processing techniques for bottoms. Adding bamboo lashing to your rope ties can create a new unique sensation of structure and constraint while increasing the versatility of your scenes. In this class, we’ll explore how to incorporate bamboo for structure, stability, and creative expression. We’ll be demonstrating how to attach bamboo poles to various locations on the body as well as specific uplines that can be used for partial suspensions. Having a partner for the class is encouraged, but not mandatory. Many of the ties can be self-tied.

Oblige will have body bamboo on hand to the class to practice with and for purchase should attendees like to take a set home for themselves.

This is an In-Person ONLY class. No LiveStream or Recording

A tying partner is encouraged, but not necessary. Please feel free to sit in and just listen or tie solo if that’s your comfort. This is a class that will highlight and educate you in the art of adding an edge to the rope we already love.

What happens when one rope is enough? This class examines torture through constraint, fatigue, and intentional denial using a single continuous rope. By limiting materials, we sharpen awareness of the body, breath, and the slow accumulation of discomfort over time.

Participants will explore how posture, stillness, and micro-adjustments can transform simple structures into intense experiences. The focus is not on elaborate ties, but on how presence, pacing, and choice shape sensation.

This class will require 3-5 hanks of 7-10m rope and you do not need a tying partner to perform all the content covered.

This will be a lecture, demo, see and do workshop. Expect to leave with a new tie or two and some new ideas for spicy time.

About your presenters

@PersuasivePeach is a rope switch, edge player, and collared submissive (MDD’s the lucky one) based in Northwest Ohio. With a little over four years in the scene, she’s taught or supported classes on breath play, cold branding, caning, sensory deprivation, cigar play, and- of course- rope.

She leads the monthly Toledo Area Tied Up rope class, where she helps participants build skill, confidence, and connection through hands-on learning and thoughtful challenge. Peach enjoys exploring the edges of comfort and control, and she’s passionate about helping others find their own rhythm in rope, whether they’re flying or staying grounded.

@Anyette (she/they) is a submissive rope bottom from the Detroit area with an affinity for play that evokes discomfort and distress, and she believes that the best way to explore those thoroughly and safely is through transparent and efficient communication. 

Anyette’s will be covering concepts like active bottoming in rope, embracing intentional discomfort, and how to establish efficient communication with your rope top so you both feel safe and connected (even when things get a little uncomfy – intentionally, of course)

• Those 3x5 cards are turned in and then organized by the discussion facilitators.

• When the discussion session starts the facilitators read each card outlaid and attendees given the opportunity to discuss as a large group.

• Following the group discussion the space will remain open until 10:00 for continued small group discussions, socializing, and/or tours of the space.

About Your Presenter

H-ST has had a fascination with psychology for as long as they could remember. So much so that they joined the kink community (online initially) in October of 2021. Joining the irl community in May of 2022, H-ST’s interest in hypnokink/erotic hypnosis was their main drive. They have helped out with A2TNG and at the end of January 2024 they became a board member for the group. They also run the Wandering Mindgazers currently, the local hypnokink group. When H-ST went to Charmed!2024 , they had a desire to teach locally in their community. H-ST has been a subject for since January of 2022, and has been a hypnotist (becoming an hypnoswitch also) since January of 2024. Meeting many different people to learn, grow, and evolve has been such a blessing, and teaching is a way that they would like to give back.

This meeting will immerse us into the holy grail of Japanese rope bondage:
Gote (後手) shibari (tying hands behind the back)
Also commonly referred to as "Box Tie, Takate Kote or simply TK

The meeting will feature @Odys and @VioletRain where they will discuss the emotional and physical roles that Gote shibari plays between two partners.

Tickets are per person (no tying partner required)

The discussion will dive into evolution of Gote shibari in prominent Japanese kinbaku styles using historical notes from Showa Era bondage to modern times. We will break down the elements of Gote shibari that progressively mix hard and soft skills to make tying hands behind the back an experience. The discussion will be followed by a tying demo that will emphasize various discussed aspects of the Gote shibari.

The unique and intimate nature of this meeting would allow participants to discuss, observe and ask questions throughout the meeting, as well as taking photos from various vantage points during the tying demo.

SRM is inspired by Naka sensei’s semenawa study group in Tokyo and held in the US with his blessing.
