Using basic harness, attachments and up line, we will be look at the fundamentals involved in beginning to come off the ground.

After class Oblige staff will be on hand to assist and help you get the most out of this class experience.

You do not need a tying partner to perform all the content covered.

This will be a lecture, demo, see and do workshop.

For this class you will NEED:

-You’ll need rope. 6-8 full ropes (24-30’). A couple "half" rope could be useful also. If you don’t have rope, we sell and rent it.

-This class is designed as a partnered class, though it could be self tied. Either way there is always value to being in the room. If you don’t have a tying partner that's okay lots can be learned by simply being in the room. Often people attend without tying partners and there’s an opportunities for them to pair up.

All levels of skill sets are welcomed to attend for a verity of reasons. If you are new to rope bondage or do not have a working understanding of the basics and fundamental you are strongly encouraged you attend the pre-class portion of the workshop at 6:00PM.

This month there will be a figure-drawing opportunity at the Rope Jam. From 12:30-2:30, we will have models in rope for a few coordinated drawing sessions.
Three sessions will range from 20-30 minutes across different poses and different models. Oblige will have some materials on hand, but attendees should plan to bring their own sketching materials or tablets for digital sketches.

In general, this is meant to be an open, unstructured time for you to come in, grab a coffee or tea, relax, tie, skill share, and play. There’s no requirement to partake in the figure-drawing portion of the day. If this is not your thing, you are welcome to simply use the space however you wish during this time.

Knife play is not complicated. This class will cover basic safety considerations, a few simple techniques for using knives, and optional information about choosing and maintaining knives. Beyond that, this class is primarily intended to expose people to different knife play concepts and inspire ideas about how to make this kind of play enjoyable.

Curious, want to try? Following the end of the demo, attendees will have the option to try bottoming for knife play, or to try topping for knife play with supervision (if consenting bottom is available).

During the “social hour” those that need a refresher on suitable upper and lower body harnesses needed for class, can do them with Paul and Courtney from 4:15-5:00.
The space will stay open for one additional hour after class for attendees to practices what they have learned, socialize or use the space as they wish.

• Rope tying and handling skills associated with applying/receiving safe(r) rope patterens

• Basic skills and understanding of static suspensions and up-lines

• One upper body and one lower body harness suitable for suspension and dynamic loads

• Effective commination skill and patience in live class tying situations
