This is a new style event by community request. Very different from our LEAP classes. We like to think of it as a more advanced “intensive style” workshop. Somewhere we can really hone our skills, practice, progress, and become inspired.

Elevation Rope Lab is for those that already understand the fundamentals of Japanese inspired rope bondage. It’s a space to explore intermediate and advanced ropes concepts and skills during the primary class/lab. It is also an opportunity to ask questions or share about rope topics/ties of your choosing and explore/learn as a group or a couple small groups. 

February’s Primary Class/Lab:

Spellbound TK with @Serene_X and @GoldenCourtney. This is a “chest loading” box tie for those with sensitive arms and/or shoulders. We will cover the tie itself, multiple attachments points, use cases and variations.

How to attend

If we are not familiar with your skill set, we will reach out to discuss the prerequisites. Those wishing to audit only will be given the criteria at that time.

Prerequisites :

The expectation is that all attendees come with a practiced understanding of Japanese inspired rope bondage. What that looks like will be different for all of us. Basically if you feel comfortable following along and keeping up with most rope classes, you will be able to follow along and keep up here. If not you are always welcome to audit the class and soak up what you can. 

• People applying ropes should have a working understanding of suspension uplines and attaching styles. 

• People receiving ropes should have body awareness and be able to and willing to effectively communicate their limits while in ropes

• All attendees, tying or being tied, should have a good understanding of nerve risks and indicators of trouble. They should also be able to care for themselves and be accountable for their own tolerances while in an educational setting

• Attendees at any skill level are welcome to audit the class

• You will want a full rope kit and something to take notes

Giving you what you’ve been asking for

In this class, @Midnight_Shibari will give details into the nerves commonly at risk throughout the body as well as visual demonstration. Attendees will have the opportunity to take what we go over and search for areas of risk on your own body as everyone’s anatomy is a little different with varying nerve sensitivities. We’ll then go over different safety checks that can be used and which nerves they test for, so you can better identify where the issue is and can adjust the rope quicker. The last part of class will focus on what happens if a suspected nerve injury occurs and what current medical literature suggests is beneficial.

Celebrating five years of LEAP classes with a new experience for some, refresher for others and hopefully some new tricks for the more experienced in the room.

In week 1 of 4 @Flynn_Racer and @-emmie- will be looking at Single Columns, Double Columns and Hojo Cuffs. Several different ways to use these very basic ties to build an erotic rope bondage scene on the floor. Not only are these foundational ties needed for shibari but these are very useful for introducing someone to rope and erotic rope bondage without fancy patterns. It’s just tying people up, down, and to themselves.

In this class @Flynn_racer and @rose-in-rope will cover the essentials needed before you take off for flight. They will go over upline mechanics, upline management, upline harness attachment, upline hardpoint lock off, and upline safety.

Target audience: suspension curious rope enthusiasts with a good knowledge of the fundamentals and harnesses.

Class goal: provide upline knowlege and skills to safely take flight. And to utilize proper upline management to create a partial suspension, or take your first flight.

Class requirements: knowledge of a chest harness within your risk profile to suspend in. Knowledge of single column tie. (Bonus if you have knowledge of a hip harness within your risk profile to suspend in)
