Join us for our first (of hopefully many) Open House / Office Hours!
This night is for anyone who wants to learn more about Oblige, meet Corktown Health (https://corktownhealth.org/), or simply be in community. We're hosting it because:
Our owners and staff are usually so busy running events that we rarely get the chance to really connect with and get to know you.
Many people who haven't been to Oblige yet want to see the space before committing to a class, party, or workshop.
Many of our regulars are just looking for a chance to be together and connect.
This evening holds space for all of that and more.
At the very least, come get tested! Corktown Health will be with us offering free STI screening, and you can learn more about the services they provide to Detroit's LGBTQ community.
Schedule
6:00 PM: Doors open. The first hour is for arriving, touring the space, and socializing. If this is your first visit, please try to arrive close to 6:00 so we can welcome you, give you a tour, and help you settle in.
7:00 PM: Welcome. Serene_X and Flynn_Racer will say a few words, introduce the Oblige staff, and talk about what Oblige is all about. Corktown Health will share the work they're doing in Detroit and how to access their services.
7:00–9:00 PM: Meet & AMA. We'll all be available for one-on-one conversations, so ask us anything about Oblige or just come get to know us. During this time, Corktown Health will have a separate, private area for confidential rapid screening for HIV, Hepatitis C, and Syphilis.
9:00 PM: Space opens. No play is permitted before 9:00. After that, the space is open for attendees to explore and use as they like.
Cost: $1. The small fee helps us plan for headcount. All attendees must register on our website.
