“Backbends 101: Anatomy & Lab”: Create safer, more dramatic backbends in rope suspension
This combination class includes a brief lecture on the anatomical functions of the spine, exercises to strengthen backbends for bottoms, tips for tops in tying backbends, and a full suspension sequence.
Which parts of the spine are most mobile in you bottom? How can you tell? Learn how to exploit the talents of your bottom’s spine effectively for more dramatic backbend shapes.
“Torsions: Spinal safety and suspension”: Twist with intention, not tension.
Torsion is one of the most misunderstood — and most risky — forces in rope. This class explores how twists develop in the body in suspension, how to recognize unsafe load paths, and how to adjust for healthy rotation. This class includes a brief lecture, exercises to improve torsions on both sides, and a full suspension sequence.
For: Tops, Bottoms, Switches
