Elevation Rope Lab - "Thigh Binder"

This is class is a vetted class with limited capacity. To attend please see the "How to attend" section below.

This is a new style event by community request. Very different from our LEAP classes. We like to think of it as a more advanced “intensive style” workshop. Somewhere we can really hone our skills, practice, progress, and become inspired.

Elevation Rope Lab is for those that already understand the fundamentals of Japanese inspired rope bondage. It’s a space to explore intermediate and advanced ropes concepts and skills during the primary class/lab. It is also an opportunity to ask questions or share about rope topics/ties of your choosing and explore/learn as a group or a couple small groups.

April’s Primary Class/Lab:

A "Thigh Binder" with Paul and Courtney
We use this tie as an alternative to a folded leg binder or “Futo”. It is a one rope tie that, when suspended gives the body the same shape that a futo would, without the shin pain. It can be tied in suspension sequences while the person in ropes is already in the air. We plan to demo ALL the ways we use this and attachment points.

Format for these evenings are as follows.

Doors at 5:00
Primary Class/Lab: 5:15-6:45/7
Skill Share Lab: 7-8:15
The space will close at 8:30 for non-members (those unaccompanied by a member)

How to attend

Those wishing to attend can request to do so by DM and marking themselves as “going” or “interested” on this event. Please indicate in your DM if you will be, applying ropes, receiving ropes, switching or auditing. If we are not familiar with your skill set, we will reach out to discuss the prerequisites. Those wishing to audit only will be given the criteria at that time.

From there approved attendees will receive event details and ticketing links.

Prerequisites :

The expectation is that all attendees come with a practiced understanding of Japanese inspired rope bondage. What that looks like will be different for all of us. Basically if you feel comfortable following along and keeping up with most rope classes, you will be able to follow along and keep up here. If not you are always welcome to audit the class and soak up what you can.

  • People applying ropes should have a working understanding of suspension uplines and attaching styles.

  • People receiving ropes should have body awareness and be able to and willing to effectively communicate their limits while in ropes

  • All attendees, tying or being tied, should have a good understanding of nerve risks and indicators of trouble. They should also be able to care for themselves and be accountable for their own tolerances while in an educational setting

  • Attendees at any skill level are welcome to audit the class

  • You will want a full rope kit and something to take notes
This evening is designed for partnered tying, while the ticketing for the events is per individual.

More than just a rope class

The workshop portion of the evening is only half of the event. The second half of the evening is going to be a bit of an “uncon” session. If there is something attendees want to learn or teach/share with others, you are encouraged to ask/offer. We will be collecting note cards with your questions, desires to learn or offerings to teach. During a quick break between sessions, attendees will silently select their preferences and we will break into 1-3 smaller groups to explore the topics that suit us.
To attend please sign up through the schedule below
Tickets are per person. The primary class will be focused for tying pairs. When you are signing up please indicate if will be:
-applying ropes
-receiving ropes
-switching
-auditing
